Book 1

Friends for life

In this multicultural children’s storybook about friendship, four children are chosen by their head teacher to join a special project after each of them excels in a different subject. Their task is to support classmates who struggle in the areas they are strongest in, working together as a team to help improve overall grades. While they wait in the classroom, a lorry driver forgets to apply the handbrake after parking on a steep hill. The vehicle rolls downward and crashes into the school building. Although no one is seriously injured, the four children become temporarily trapped until emergency services confirm the site is safe.
As they wait together, they begin talking and soon discover they all come from different ethnic backgrounds. Through sharing stories, they learn about one another’s cultures and decide to visit each other’s homes once they are rescued, eager to understand even more. This simple moment becomes the start of a powerful bond, and the four quickly become inseparable friends.
This first book in the series is designed to be both educational and heartwarming for children and parents, celebrating diversity, teamwork, and the value of cultural understanding.

Team work

The children’s bond continues to grow as they work together with determination and kindness. United as a team, they take on different activities to raise money for the charity they care about most. The boys plan a sponsored run around the local athletics track, while the girls gather old toys and items—with help from familiar friends—to sell at the Village Hall Jumble Sale. No matter the task, the group stays side by side, supporting and motivating one another, reflecting the heart of a true multicultural children’s storybook about friendship.
Once their fundraising journey ends, the children look forward to an exciting evening at Agrippa’s house, where they plan to camp out in the back garden under the supervision of his parents. But when unexpected rain begins to fall, it seems like their plans might be ruined—or perhaps it leads to a different kind of adventure.
You’ll have to read the book to discover what happens next.

Celebrations

After enjoying a wonderful evening at Agrippa’s house under the supervision of his parents, the children quickly realise they’ve caught the party spirit. In this new adventure, they continue their journey through different cultural traditions that strengthen their bond. They begin by joining the joyful Jewish celebration of Purim, where colourful costumes and lively fun bring everyone together. Next, they celebrate Basharat’s birthday with his family, experiencing meaningful Muslim customs as treasured guests. Finally, Audrey invites her friends to her home to celebrate Easter with her family, where they enjoy festive activities and warm moments together. Each experience adds another layer to this multicultural children’s storybook about friendship, showing how cultural celebrations bring friends even closer.

Who says children can’t have an amazing time wherever they go when true friendship leads the way?

Wow!! This book is excellent as it teaches children about both their own and other childrens cultures and beliefs. It shows an intelligent appreciation of mixed cultures starting to bond together through the eyes of our children. This is most definitely the way forward for learning in our communities

Mr William Lowman

I was impressed by the way that the author captured the idea to amalgamate different cultures together. The children are enjoying learning about each others religions and habits and will also learn about other cultures and beliefs. The idea that they then become friends for life adds another star as far as im concerned …..im impressed…..well done George Rosling..

Mr James Fullbrook

This is the first book I have bought from this author. It is a very good story and my children have read and enjoyed it very much. They were impressed as they thought the characters were great as the kids can relate to them easily along with the illustrations. All in all a very good read/book. I would recommend this to anyone and look forward to reading future books in the series..

Mr Richard War

Im not quite sure where to start to be honest. The only thing I can say is that I feel this concept of bringing different cultures together has been a long time coming. I think this will go down particularly well in primary schools where children can grasp cultural awareness and religious education from alternative perspectives. Good luck to the author on his journey with this series of books and I hope it brings him success.

Miss Jessica Rowlands

Very good book with relevant issues being dealt with in regard to cultural awareness for young children……I look forward to reading book number two when its released.

Miss Lisa Goddfrey

Great read! My 6 year old daughter and I really enjoyed it. Its a lovely way to introduce primary aged children into different religions and cultures at a level they can relate too. It gives a real sense of community regardless of their beliefs and has a feel good story of togetherness and friendships. Highly Recommended!!

Mrs Linzi Charlesworth

I Started to read ‘Friends for Life’ and found it an interesting read. The characters were believable and the story captured your attention from the start of the book. I look forward to glimpsing through any more books released in this series as I’m sure they will be educational and interesting.

Mr Graeme Halpin

Miss Gemma Marron

Even although I don’t have young children of my own I bought a copy of this book on recommendation from a friend. After reading the book and also letting my neighbour also have a read I was surprised how much we both actually enjoyed it. The concept and the camaraderie between the children was impressive and will teach the younger generation how to form friendships with each other even between children of mixed race. My neighbours 6 year old daughter thought it was good and is now taking it to school to show her friends. I would recommend this book to anyone as its an excellent read!

Mr Iain Hill

Fantastic storyline with brilliant characters. The author knows how to capture the imagination of the audience with an exciting story in an educational manner. Four children from different backgrounds, cultures and nationalities, thrown together and become best friends. I can see many adventures coming our way. Highly recommended!

Mrs Susan Hunt

Was given a copy of this book and the message it presents is incredible. Through this book the author finds a way to integrate such awareness in both an educational and entertaining manner. This is a fantastic read for primary aged children. I also recommend this book to stem discussions in R.E. and cultural lessons within primary schools. A massive well done to this author.

Maggie

I bought the first book directly from the author and had him sign my copy. I then let my nieces read the book, they love it. My youngest niece has now informed me that she has made lots of new friends just like the characters in the book. We cant wait for the next one.

Paul Winterbottom

Good idea and well illustrated for a children’s educational series of books. The theme of teaching kids cultural awareness at an early time in their development is awesome as its when they are most likely to take notice before other influences can effect their opinions. Well done Mr. Rosling.
